In the Community
Over 180 years of heritage
The Partners and staff here at Rollits have been serving businesses and the public for over 180 years. Though our firm is deeply rooted in the history of the region, we also continue to grow by staying in touch with the needs of modern families, companies, educational organisations and charities.
Through two-way communication, endless innovation and a strong investment in the future, we remain an agile, approachable and trusted law firm that supports our clients and the wider community.
Employee engagement
We’re dedicated to encouraging our employees to get involved in the evolution of Rollits and share their opinions on all manner of topics. By giving everyone a platform to have their voice heard, we’ve created a company culture that continually moves forward in line with the expectations of our people.
From fundraising initiatives to hybrid working and workplace wellbeing, our proactive and responsive approach to employee engagement means that everyone has an opportunity to share their thoughts and pitch ideas.
Mental health and wellbeing
Having signed the Time to Change Employer Pledge in 2019, our firm remains committed to giving employees everything they need to remain safe, happy and engaged in the workplace. The appointment of multiple Wellbeing Companions enables staff at every level to act as mental health ambassadors, ensuring that guidance, signposting and a sympathetic ear are always available.
Working closely with relevant organisations, we also organise and host a range of events focused on wellbeing, resilience and mental health awareness. Meanwhile, our employee assistance programme through Health Assured offers 24/7 counselling, the ability to log your mood each day, and a handy app that shares useful podcasts and webinars.
Fundraising and charity events
As a firm we have been involved in charity fundraising for many years: the Rollits Charity Golf Day, held over the last 38 years, has raised over £150,000 for two local charities.
Both offices have a Charity of the Year, which is chosen by our employees. Currently our main charities are Bliss and Dementia Forward, which each deliver crucial services to their local communities. Our employees also get to choose how funds will be raised, with multiple events taking place that include everything from bake sales and raffles to fun runs and step-a-thons.
Whilst fundraising is very important, we also encourage our staff to get involved with not-for-profit organisations in other ways such as by volunteering individually or as a team, supporting an organisation through a specific campaign or spreading the word of a charity’s objectives and goals.
In the community
Rollits has a long tradition of supporting the local community and many of our people are actively involved with local charities, churches, schools and politics. We also provide a wide range of ways for all staff to make a positive impact on their local community.
Examples of this community-focused activity include litter-picking and beach clean sessions, hosting art by local school pupils in our offices, and running free talks and events that offer invaluable information and advice to local people and business owners.
