ACAS 2018/2019 Annual Report

The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas) has recently published its 2018/2019 Annual Report. The report evidences that Acas' impartial early conciliation service continues to be in high demand, particularly following the abolition of Tribunal fees in July 2017.

Acas received over 13,000 requests for early conciliation during the 12 month reporting period, the majority of which were requests by employees. The demand for the conciliation services continued to increase and rose by over twenty percent compared with last year.

These statistics highlight the trend for employees to pursue employment tribunal claims since the abolition of fees continues to rise.
