What connects you to Yorkshire?
I grew up and went to school in Beverley. I went to university in London and when I graduated I spent a year in Australia. After some time spent away I am glad to be back in Yorkshire!
Tell us about your family?
I try and see my family as much as possible and I feel lucky to live close to them, especially my Nana.
Why did you decide on a legal career?
When I younger I wanted to be a weather forecaster, but then I did an A level in law, and really enjoyed it and decided to stick with it.
What do you do in your job as a Trainee Solicitor?
I am currently in the Property department. I deal with residential sales and purchases. I also do work for our RSL clients, from shared ownership leases to Right to Buy sales.
What is the best piece of advice you have received so far in you career?
We don't all bring sausage rolls to the party. If we did it would be a boring party.
What is your most treasured possession?
I would have to say my passport, I feel very lucky to have travelled to lots of places and experienced different cultures.
If you could invite three people to dinner (dead or alive) who would they be?
The first person on my invite list would be Louis Theroux, I love his documentaries and would have so many questions to ask him! I would also invite Derren Brown I find him intriguing. I went to see him a couple of years ago and really wanted to get picked to be hypnotised, so perhaps I would get a second chance over dinner! I would also invite Joanna Lumley, I would love to chat to her about all the places she has travelled to - she is fabulous!
What is the last film you watched?
I've never really been into films and the cinema, but my 2020 New Years resolution was to go to the cinema more, and then they all had to close! At the start of the year I did get to go and see Parasite, which I really enjoyed, so much so I watched it again at home over lockdown
What's your perfect holiday destination?
I love travelling and I always have a long list of where I want to go! However my perfect destination would be Australia, I would love to go back and visit all the friends I made during my time spent there, and to stock up on Tim Tams, Vegemite and all the other great Aussie snacks!
What makes Yorkshire special?
The Wensleydale Cheese Creamery - it is magical!
