Rollits will be offering legal advice and wine tasting at Driffield Show

Hull Is This had a chat with Neil Franklin and Ruth Maltby-Sinkler about one of the UK’s largest agricultural shows taking place on our doorstep.

This year Driffield Show is celebrating its 148th anniversary of celebrating agriculture, horticulture, equestrianism, animals and independent food production. The event sees thousands of people from across the UK descend on the East Yorkshire market town for a wide range of events and activities, including action horse shows, a schools challenge, handicraft sessions, livestock displays, a fun dog show and much, much more.

Rollits has been involved in the annual Driffield Show for many years. This year they’ll be at Stand G138 (What-3-Words reference FOOLS.EXCUSING.KILTS), where numerous members of their team will be available to talk about agricultural law, commercial law and any other topics you require information about.

Neil Franklin is a Partner and the Head of Agriculture at Rollits, whereas Ruth Maltby-Sinkler is a newly appointed Partner with expertise in rural property work. They’re both members of the Driffield Agricultural Society and specialise in Agriculture Law, so they’re very much looking forward to meeting people at Driffield Show and discussing the changing landscape of the sector.

Neil said: “We’ll both be there along with other team members from Rollits, giving visitors the opportunity to gain invaluable insight and advice. In terms of agricultural law, a few years ago the focus was wind turbines but these are largely moving offshore. The main topic of conversation now is solar farms and other land-based renewable technologies. Whether you’re a farmer interested in diversification or a business owner looking for information on another subject, the experts at Rollits will be there to support you.”

Ruth added: “We’re very excited to be joined at our stand by Alice Maltby from Little Wold Vineyard. She’ll be talking to visitors about their many wonderful wines, as well as offering wine tastings. Whether you’d like to visit our stand for some advice and a free glass of wine or simply want to pop down to introduce yourself and enjoy a soft drink, we’re very much looking forward to meeting you.”

“It’s going to be a grand day out for people of all ages,” said Neil. “Driffield Show is enjoyable for adults and very exciting for little ones, with schools from across the region often bringing classes so that the children can get a feel for careers in agriculture. If you’re free on the day, we highly recommend coming over to Driffield and getting involved.”

Driffield Show takes place on Wednesday 17 July 2024 from 9am to 5pm at Driffield Showground. Tickets are available online in advance and at the gate on the day.
