Rollits announces double promotion as local lawyers make their mark
Rollits has announced the promotion of two solicitors from the Hull area who both joined the practice as trainees.
Sophie Wheeldon, who joined the firm in 2013 and qualified two years later, is promoted from Associate to Partner. Lucy Trynka, who is promoted from Solicitor to Senior Solicitor, joined the firm in 2018 and qualified in 2020.
Sophie attended Wolfreton School in Willerby and completed her law degree at the University of Hull, graduating with first class honours in 2012. On qualifying in 2015, she joined the commercial property team, where she continues to specialise in all aspects of the department’s work including sales and purchases, landlord and tenant, leasehold and freehold, secured lending and corporate support work. Sophie acts for a wide range of clients from large companies to small unincorporated charities.
Lucy attended Hymers College in Hull and then completed her LLB at Newcastle University and passed her Legal Practice Course with distinction at the University of Law in Leeds. She qualified directly into Rollits’ employment team and is based at the Hull office.
Lucy has had experience working across Yorkshire for employers and employees and providing HR advice to businesses. She has advised clients in complex disability discrimination matters, including during employment tribunal proceedings, and regularly advises both employers and employees on settlement agreement matters.
She also provides corporate support in the form of employment law due diligence and TUPE advice to large companies undertaking both share and asset purchases, as well as drafting employment related documents such as staff handbooks, contracts of employment, service agreements and settlement agreements.
Ralph Gilbert, Managing Partner at Rollits said: “Congratulations to Sophie and Lucy on their well-deserved promotions! Their dedication and hard work has paid off and we are thrilled to see them continue to grow and thrive in their chosen career.
“Our Training Contracts programme is part of our strong commitment to finding local talent and offering people entry into the legal profession. Sophie and Lucy are just two of the people who have made the most of this opportunity.”
