Charity Commission Update on Safeguarding Guidance

The Charity Commission has recently updated its guidance forcharity trustees on their duties to promote the welfare of childrenand young people and to protect them from harm, 'SafeguardingChildren and Young People'.

The changes include a revised introduction outlining the dutiesof charities' trustees and there is also an update of theCommission's regulatory role and the information on the disclosureand barring service.

There is also a new section on charities working directly withchildren abroad.
