Macmillan Race Day at York
Move over Mickey - there's a new mouse intown!
On Saturday, 15 June a team ofvolunteers from Rollits gave up their time to help with fundraisingat the Macmillan Race Day at York Racecourse raising funds forMacmillan Cancer Support.
The team were at theracecourse all day and undertook a variety of task from sellingraffle tickets to shaking collection buckets. One team member,Chris Drinkall, even volunteered to dress up as the charity'smascot and did a superb job as Miles the Mouse!
This fabulous day at theracecourse was a huge success and this year the total raised in oneday exceeded £350,000.
The Macmillan Race Day hasbeen running for over 43 years and is the charity's single biggestfundraising event of the year, raising a total of £5.5 million forpeople affected by cancer.
Macmillan was founded in 1911by Douglas Macmillan and is a registered charity. Theyprovide practical, medical and financial support and push forbetter cancer care for all those diagnosed with thedisease.
