Rollits charity golf day raises funds for local charities
Yorkshire businesses helped to raise over £3,000 for charity ata golf day organised by Rollits at Brough Golf Club on Thursday 7 July21016
Businesses including MKM, Plaxton, The One Point and PPHCommercial, came together to raise funds for two localcharities.
Twenty five teams took part in the charity golf event at BroughGolf Club, which raised funds for the local branch of the MuscularDystrophy UK, who provide free care and support for babies,
children and adults affected by muscle disease, fund world-classresearch to find treatments and cures, provide grants towardsequipment and campaign to raise awareness and bring about change,and Dove House Hospice in Hull, which offers palliative care toadults with life limiting illnesses to improve the quality of lifeof their patients by offering specialist care which is holistic andindividually tailored.
The winners of this year's competition, with a winning score of119 was the Strata Boys comprising Graham Fisher, Ian Jones, WayneHolgate and Phil Tomlinson.
Speaking after the event, Richard Field, senior partner atRollits, said: "The day always provides an excellent opportunityfor some friendly competition between Yorkshire's business peoplewhile also raising funds for two extremely worthy causes. We'repleased to be able to support the two charities by presenting themwith the proceeds of our golf day.
He added: "This year's tournament was once again a greatsuccess. We had fantastic weather and excellent support frombusinesses around the region. Thank you to all those who enteredteams, donated prizes and sponsored holes, without whom this daywould not be possible."
>From its inception in 1988, the event continues to bepopular with businesses throughout the region and has helped toraise in excess of £120,000 over the years.
